I have no issues with the search button. If the title is long or has a lot of common words that could be the problem. For author, I often just use the last name or for instance I would put "James Patterson", using the double quotation will narrow down the search. If title is long but has a word in it that isn't common, use that.

I’ll give it a go.

What author and title are you searching?

Are you using your phone or PC/laptop?

Lets see if we can find the problem

I search author and always get results.....only authors with punctuation marks don't give any results

For instance Bill O'Reilly - 0 results

Try searching Bill Reilly instead of Bill O'Reilly

I use an iPhone & iPad.
I type only the authors name in the appropriate place.
I also try one word from the book title.

When I select places to search I m not sure what to search so I select all I think are relevant including sub sections.
TIA

@Tsundoku

I never use the advance search - I search from the index page in the search bar

For instance Jack Gatland

I get 12 matches - search.php?keywords=Jack+Gatland

If I search Declan Walsh

I get 4 matches - search.php?keywords=Declan+Walsh

If I search Jack Gatland Declan Walsh

I get 2 matches - search.php?keywords=Jack+Gatland+Declan+Walsh

Is it possible to show me your search results?

Just searching from search bar on the index page makes all the difference, THANK YOU.

Previously I either searched from the Advanced search page or search bar in each forum.
A search in either of these places has been a waste of time & frustrating.
It’s unclear to me why the search function is so unreliable when used from anywhere but the Index page.
Thank you for being patient with me.
