Send EPUB to device

Unread post by Warrior »

Can anybody tell me how to set "Send to Device" as EPUB by default & not MOBI?
Thanks

What device are you trying to send your book to?

Fire only recognizes the Amazon formats - azw, azw3, azw4, htmlz and mobi. You have to convert the file to an epub. You do that with Calibre (free download) or a free online converter.

Now, if you install an Android ePub app, you can get around that - read this:

Ah, one of my neighbors has a Fire. She says that the Aldiko doesn't work on the Kindle Fire HD 7 through 10. Between her kids and her, they have them all. She brings the epubs into her Calibre and converts them to mobi and transfers the mobi files to her Fire.

You can go onto "security" then set "allow apps from untrusted sources" then you can sideload apps to them

Pardon? I know that, she knows that. I thought you were trying to read epubs on your Kindle Fire. According to her, from version 7-10, Aldiko doesn't read epubs any longer so it won't change its mobi default. It did on previous versions.

Well, if you had given us the version of your Fire, perhaps you would have gotten an accurate response. Gina and I are fresh out of ideas for you. Perhaps someone who has your version of Fire can assist you.

You've said that twice. That is the model of Fire you're using. I had to ask you what version you are using, which you finally said was 3.1.3. Both pieces of information are needed for someone to help you.

As I said, I had Gina help you, but her info wasn't helpful for your issue. Someone else will have to assist you.

Maybe thats because you said "Well, if you had given us the version of your Fire" when I had already posted what version I was using & also what version of Aldiko I was using.

Maybe reading the post would be a good idea? But dont worry about giving help. I am happy to do without any from you.

You gave the version AFTER I posted what Gina told me to tell you.

Take your attitude elsewhere.
