2. Crushed - Detective Inspector Tracy Collier walks into the incident room, relieved to see her old friend DI Kane Barnett grinning. She’s been dreading the reception she’d get from him since shoving him aside to take over the serious crimes squad.
After her last case, she needed a fresh start in a new town with a new squad. Away from the memories. Away from all those lies.
Lies have a habit of catching up with you . . .
Then a call comes in. Her first case on the serious crimes squad.
A man is found dead in the local park beside a stream. He’s been bludgeoned over the head. His skull crushed. Blood, small grey matter particles, and tiny bone fragments spatter the surrounding area.
Tracy swallows bile, while her boyfriend and partner, DS Damon, walks away to gag discreetly behind his hand. He’ll get used to it, eventually.
And now Kane’s trying to take control of the case — so much for his cheery greeting! Tracy must fight for leadership of the squad and catch a twisted killer before they strike again.

3. Skinned - The phone rings on DI Tracy Collier’s desk. She closes her eyes momentarily — she doesn’t need a new job on her hands. Not today.
A body’s been found. An old lady in her nightie with her throat slit. Happy Monday!
Tracy scribbles down the address, alerts the team and takes three flights of stairs at a clip.
In a remote farmer’s field, Tracy and DS Damon find the victim. Mrs Irene Roberts was a resident at Blooming Age care home. How did she end up here, dead in a field?
Tracy and DS Damon head to the care home to find out. There, the sight of Mrs Roberts’ son almost breaks them. He thinks his mother is missing. Not dead. Poor sod.
Then another body is discovered and Tracy begins to panic. She’s already at the end of her tether — there are disturbing signs that her deranged sister Lisa is back in town. If she is, God help us all . . .
